About the Auto Insurance Discount

The online course offered by Driver Training Associates on this website is an Internet Point Insurance Reduction Program (IPIRP) approved by the New York Department of Motor Vehicles. Under state law, a New York driver who completes this course may receive a 10% reduction on his or her auto insurance policy.

This reduction can be applied to only one driver for each covered vehicle. If a driver completes an approved motorcycle safety / accident prevention course, the reduction will apply to the collision and liability premiums for both motorcycle and automobile insurance.

How Is the Insurance Reduction Applied to Youthful Drivers?

The insurance reduction applies to any insured driver who is the principal operator and completes the insurance reduction program. This includes youthful operators and drivers participating in assigned risk pool.

If a youthful operator is already receiving an insurance reduction for taking a driver education course, the IPIRP discount might also be applied at the discretion of the insurance company.
